Every Balikbayan* knows that when s/he comes home to Manila, there is an overabundance of food. True enough, my trip with Javs to Manila consisted of continuous servings of food!
*balik = return / bayan = country (ie, as a noun, it means someone who returns to his/her country)
So here is an account of our FOOD TRIPs, as we call 'em in the Philippines.
(See? We even have a term for it!)
Dinner with Patti and Christy - Zuni at Greenbelt 5

Cute little dinner rolls to start off with
Warm, soft and yummy! These rolls served as good appetizers, as they gave us a special sauce to dip them into. Too bad P didn't get a shot of the sauce, though. Next time, P!
Patti's Mushroom Foie-Gras Ravioli
Patti had an interesting experience with this dish afterwards when she was driving home. Let's just say that those were some mushrooms! It's a good thing P got home safe... in spite of her hallucinations!
Christy's Baked Norwegian Salmon in Filo Pastry
I don't know how C liked the salmon, but I honestly wasn't too fond of it, perhaps because of the lack of sauce or flavor. Also because I'm not too much of a salmon fan! I'm a Tilapia advocate!
My Roasted Fatless Rack of Lamb in Herb Crust
This was absolutely delicious! It was cooked just right - juicy and tasty enough, but the herbs and sauce did not overpower the taste of the lamb. Very DROOLWORTHY, I tell you!
Coffee Crunch Souffle
This little piece of heaven was unfortunately too small for the three of us! What a little tease it was!
